The classic editorial workflow is a queue: draft, submit, wait, review, wait, revise, wait, publish. Every handoff is a place where work goes to sit. Our goal was a process with the same rigor and almost none of the waiting.
Review the risky, ship the safe
The first change was triage. A post that fixes a typo or updates a screenshot ships after a single skim. A post announcing pricing changes gets two reviewers and a legal pass. The rule is simple: review depth scales with blast radius, and everyone knows which is which.
The second change was timing. Reviews happen in a fixed daily window, not ad hoc. Writers know exactly when feedback lands, reviewers batch their work, and nothing sits in 'waiting' for more than a day.
Boring is the feature
None of this is clever, and that's the point. Process debt compounds exactly like technical debt — every exception becomes precedent. A boring, predictable review lane beats a clever one that everyone routes around.
